This visually stunning project provided a new building complex within the grounds of a prestigious girls Grammar School providing new performing arts, sports and science facilities.
The versatile and well equipped performing arts studio has been designed to meet the demands of the School's "Centre of Excellence" status in performing and visual arts and the needs of local community groups; the sports hall is fully fitted for four badminton courts to club standard; the science laboratories incorporate state-of-the-art equipment and teaching facilities.
The performing arts studio is heated and cooled by a subterranean ground linked ventilation system served from an underground pipework 'labyrinth', the performance of which will be monitored by South Bank University.
The project was shortlisted for the 2008 RICS Award for Sustainability (London region).
